RENO, Nev. (AP) - A man shot by Reno police officers who say he pointed a gun at them in a casino parking garage has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon and being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm.

Sparks Police Sgt. Charles Alt said Tuesday Arthur Richardson Jr. also was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, resisting arrest and aiming a firearm at a human being.

He says at least 15 people witnessed the shooting at the Silver Legacy Resort garage after Reno police responded to a call about 2:15 a.m. Sunday about a man placing a handgun to the head of another man he threatened to kill.

Richardson was shot multiple times, but Alt wouldn’t say how many.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports (https://tinyurl.com/oerjqgw) Richardson was in stable condition Tuesday at a Reno hospital.
