ANKENY, Iowa (AP) - A former Ankeny kindergarten teacher has pleaded guilty to child endangerment after authorities say she was intoxicated at a school Valentine’s Day party.

The Des Moines Register (https://dmreg.co/1ByiAFj ) reports 40-year-old Jennifer Lynn Rich pleaded guilty June 12. Authorities say a parent who was helping with a party at East Elementary School reported seeing Rich with a beer can in her classroom. According to a criminal complaint, police responded and found Rich with watery, bloodshot eyes.

The reports said she had a blood-alcohol content of 0.145 on a preliminary breath test.

Authorities said they also found a leather carry bag in Rich’s classroom containing two empty beer cans and four full beer cans. Rich resigned from the school in February.

Her sentencing hearing is scheduled for July 29.
