MANDAN, N.D. (AP) - Three loose horses temporarily blocked traffic on a North Dakota highway Tuesday.

The Bismarck Tribune (https://bit.ly/1GxJmK0 ) reports one colt and two adult horses stopped traffic around 1:30 p.m. on Highway 1806 south of Mandan. No injuries were reported.

For some time, the animals evaded North Dakota Highway Patrol troopers and area wranglers trying to round them up.

Sgt. Steve Johnson says troopers chased the horses for three miles and were able to redirect them to a side street. Johnson says the department is in the process of tracking down where the animals came from.
