LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities closed northbound Interstate 15 north of the Las Vegas Strip for more than two hours following a fatal motorcycle crash.

Nevada Highway Patrol spokeswoman Chelsea Stuenkel said a man riding a motorcycle died in a collision with a Toyota Corolla about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday just before the Cheyenne Avenue exit.

She says witnesses described seeing the motorcyclist speeding and weaving in traffic lanes before hitting the Toyota Corolla. An Acura SUV was also damaged but the Nevada Highway Patrol was still investigating how the damage occurred.

The freeway lanes re-opened shortly after 4 p.m.

Stuenkel says no one else was injured in the crash.

Information about the motorcyclist’s identity was not immediately available.
