DETROIT (AP) - A nonprofit that supports Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan’s ability to do things in office that the city can’t afford has disclosed a list of donors.

The Detroit Free Press reports (https://on.freep.com/1ddErGC ) the Detroit Progress Fund can take in unlimited contributions and legally doesn’t have to disclose donors.

The fund says it took in $97,897 in 2014 from organizations including the Detroit Regional Chamber, which gave $2,000, and the Chaldean Chamber PAC, which donated $1,000. Top donors include $5,000 from Document Management Solutions and others.

Duggan had earlier said donors would be disclosed.

The fund says it raises money to “assist the Office of the Mayor on expenditures necessary to conduct business for the city for which there are no funds available in the city budget.”
