CHELSEA, Mass. (AP) - Fire officials say they believe a semitrailer driver was suffering from a medical condition when a large truck he was driving hit a parked car and crashed into a Dunkin’ Donuts.

Chelsea Deputy Fire Chief John Quatieri says the truck was hauling a dumpster containing debris Monday afternoon in Chelsea, located about 3 miles northeast of Boston.

Quatieri says the driver was unconscious on the ground next to the truck when emergency responders arrived but that he regained consciousness by the time he was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital.

Quatieri says the crash tore open the truck’s saddle tank and leaked about 25 gallons of diesel fuel.

The Dunkin’ Donuts will stay closed pending a structural inspection.
