ASHTABULA, Ohio (AP) - A northeast Ohio man has been charged with aggravated vehicular homicide and drunken driving following a crash that killed two people over the weekend.

Twenty-eight-year-old Chad Campbell of Ashtabula (ash-tuh-BYOO’-luh) was charged Monday with two counts each of aggravated vehicular homicide and failing to stop after an accident, as well as single counts of drunken driving and failing to maintain an assured clear distance.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said the crash happened a little after midnight on Sunday near Ashtabula. Authorities say 52-year-old Joseph Lorelli and 51-year-old Tracy Chapman were thrown from the motorcycle they were riding when it was struck by a pickup truck driven by Campbell.

The patrol said Campbell left the scene and was arrested a short time later.

Court records list no attorney for Campbell.
