CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. (AP) - Police say a man who died in the Montgomery County courthouse cut his neck with a non-metallic object.

Christiansburg police disclosed the results of Mark Ward Faville’s autopsy Monday and said the official death investigation is complete. The Roanoke Times reports (https://bit.ly/1NfAtKB ) that the investigation confirmed what police said previously: that Faville took his own life moments after being found guilty of voluntary manslaughter in his wife’s 2000 death.

Capt. Brian Wright of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office says a separate investigation of the suicide found no employees were at fault and no procedures were violated.

The 72-year-old Faville died April 10 in a holding room after a five-day trial in which he was convicted in the death of 52-year-old Anne “Mickey” Faville.
