BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - Authorities say a Biloxi man who had been court-ordered to stay away from a woman has been charged after he tried to kidnap her.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1QNcubd ) police say 50-year-old Elvin Timothy Holley was arrested Monday on charges of burglary and attempted kidnapping.

Detective Steve Schlicht says a judge had ordered Holley to stay away from the woman after previous arrests on charges of simple domestic assault and stalking.

Schlicht says neighbors reported seeing Holley enter the woman’s home and try to pull her away and put her in a nearby truck. Schlicht says witnesses intervened and held Holley until police arrived.

Holley was held at the Harrison County jail and his bond was set at $500,000. It is not immediately clear if Holley has a lawyer.
