EAGLE MOUNTAIN, Utah (AP) - Bathrooms are open again at a popular Eagle Mountain park after a second water test came back negative for coliform bacteria.

The Daily Herald in Provo reports (https://bit.ly/1SH49mU ) that officials reopened the bathrooms at SilverLake Amphitheatre.

Routine testing on the week of June 10 showed high levels of coliform bacteria in the tap water, so park officials closed the restrooms as a precaution.

Public Works director Dave Norman says the city typically tests sites about twice a month and will continue to monitor the situation at SilverLake.

The presence of coliform indicates possible problems in the water treatment or distribution system, but it could also be caused by something as slight as a tap touched by unwashed hands.

E. coli was not found in the park water.
