NODAWAY, Iowa (AP) - Authorities say a 44-year-old man found dead by deputies in southwest Iowa was a victim of homicide.

The Iowa Department of Public Safety said Tuesday that its assistance was requested Saturday after Adams County deputies responded to a 911 call from a Nodaway woman. The woman, Kathy Pafford, reported that her son was deceased. Deputies who were dispatched found the body of Allen Pafford.

The autopsy was performed Monday. The state medical examiner’s office declined to release the cause of death at the request of investigators.

No arrests have been reported.
