PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) - Rutgers has hired Kelley Gibson and Ervin Monier as assistant coaches on the women’s basketball team.

Hall of Fame coach C. Vivian Stringer announced the additions on Tuesday.

Gibson spent the past five seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Syracuse, helping the Orange to the postseason each year, including three-straight NCAA Tournament berths. A former University of Maryland player, she has also worked at Southern California, Maine, the University of Maryland-Baltimore County and American University.

Monier has spent five seasons as the associate head coach at La Salle. Prior to joining the Explorers program, he worked at Southern California, Rhode Island and Temple.

Gibson and Monier replace Tia Jackson and Chelsea Newton. Jackson took a job at Miami and Newton left for a position at Georgia.
