HOUSTON (AP) - Investigators say a suspected drunken driver faces a manslaughter charge after a woman who was struck at a Houston bus stop later died.

Houston police on Tuesday announced upgraded charges against 38-year-old Obdulio Vasquez.

Police say a woman and two men at the bus stop were hurt when a car went out of control and plowed into them while racing another vehicle. Vasquez was arrested later at an apartment complex.

Vasquez initially was charged with three counts of failure to stop and render aid. The critically injured woman later died. The two men should recover.

Vasquez is now charged with intoxicated manslaughter, two counts of intoxicated assault and one count of failure to stop and render aid.

Online jail records Tuesday didn’t immediately provide custody or attorney information for Vasquez.
