DETROIT (AP) - Authorities have reopened Interstate 75 just north of downtown Detroit after a tanker truck caught fire, blocking some traffic.

The fire happened about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday on southbound I-75 near the I-94 interchange. The driver wasn’t hurt, and police say he was able to drive the vehicle to the shoulder.

The cab was fully engulfed, and state police Lt. Mike Shaw tells WXYZ-TV that the fire appeared to be related to the brakes.

The southbound lanes of I-75 reopened after about 30 minutes, while the northbound lanes remained closed about two hours.
