MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - The head of Vermont Gas Systems says the company will wait to see if the state Public Service Board reopens its review of a pipeline expansion before deciding whether to put the project on hold.

The board on Tuesday is holding a second day of hearings on whether it should revisit its December 2013 decision to grant the pipeline project a permit in light of sharp cost increases for the project since then.

A decision by the board to reopen the case could force the company to decide if it wants to take advantage of the current construction season and proceed with the project while the board decides the case.

But company President Don Rendall says he’ll wait to see what the board says before deciding about that.
