GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) - An attorney wants evidence, seized after a traffic stop, suppressed at a man’s upcoming trial. She claims 2 kilos of cocaine were seized illegally.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1BLVY4B) 31-year-old Isidro Duran Valerio, of Austin, Texas, is set for trial July 27. A federal grand jury in Gulfport, Mississippi, indicted him March 18 on one count each of conspiracy and possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

Assistant Federal Public Defender Ellen Allred filed a motion Monday asking a judge to suppress evidence collected after a traffic stop Dec. 15 on Interstate 10 in Gulfport.

U.S. District Judge Sul Ozerden will hear arguments on her motion July 2. He set the hearing date and the trial date in a pretrial conference Tuesday.

Valerio is being held with no bond.
