MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) - An organization that helps nonprofits renovate buildings with donated materials and labor says its next project for renovations is the Manchester Police Athletic League.

Building on Hope brings together designers, architects, builders and others to complete major renovations in a short time, such as an Easter Seals treatment facility and Girls Inc. in Manchester, and Opportunity Networks of Amherst.

The building, named in honor of fallen Manchester Police Officer Michael Briggs, is in need of repairs to fully serve the 8,600 at-risk youth living within a mile of the community center.

Officials estimated Wednesday it could cost about $1 million to renovate the floors of the 16,000 square-feet, 105-year-old facility.
