EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - The East Lansing Public Library is getting an overhaul following a $1.5 million gift from an anonymous donor.

Library director Kristin Shelley told City Council on Tuesday that plans call for an expanded teen area, more restrooms and a cybercafé. The Lansing State Journal reports (https://on.lsj.com/1NalbWH ) work is expected to start this fall and last for about six months.

Other updates include a soundproof room and sidewalk repairs.

The donation has also spurred a capital campaign with a goal of $3 million, which Shelley says would be enough for a total renovation of the building’s interior.
