NEW YORK (AP) - A suspect wanted on suspicion of attempted murder is on the loose after he escaped police custody while being transferred from an NYPD precinct.

Police say 23-year-old Tareek Arnold escaped around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday while he was being transported from a Harlem stationhouse. He was in handcuffs when he pushed an officer and ran away.

Residents in the area were urged to stay indoors Tuesday night.

Arnold was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, gray sweatpants and gray sneakers.
