BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - The March of Dimes will end fundraising efforts in Montana as part of an organization-wide evaluation and reallocation of resources.

The Billings Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1TNbq5Z ) that the decision leaves the organization’s four Montana chapter employee’s futures uncertain and will lead the Montana board of directors to disband.

March of Dimes senior vice president of field management Paula Ransom says the decision is a result of a strategic alignment study of the entire organization that began in August.

It wasn’t immediately clear how many people the decision to eliminate fundraising efforts in Montana will affect. Ransom said that any of those changes are still being finalized and that there may be future opportunities for any employees affected.

March of Dimes raises money for premature-birth support, education and prevention efforts.
