STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a woman in the Stone Mountain area after police say she left a child inside a hot car.

WAGA-TV (https://bit.ly/1BA0H97 ) reports an off-duty officer found the child in the Kroger parking lot Tuesday. Officer Jason Williams says he was hailed down by a concerned citizen about a little girl left in a car. Williams says the windows were rolled up and the car was locked with the child inside.

Williams says he was about to break the window when the mother arrived.

Authorities say the little girl was checked out by medics and handed over to a family member in good condition.

Her mother has been charged with reckless conduct. It is unclear if she has a lawyer. Identities of the child and mother have not been released.
