FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - Fayetteville police say a woman has been killed in a shooting that stemmed from a fight.

Police officers responded to a report of a fight Tuesday afternoon.

Police said in a statement that 50-year-old Lynne McElvine Umerah was found lying in the street. The woman was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where she died.

Police chief Harold Medlock says police arrested a suspect several streets away. Twenty-year-old Raheem Jaron McBryde has been charged with second-degree murder. He was being held in the Cumberland County jail. It was not clear if he has a lawyer.

Medlock says investigators have not determined a motive.
