PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) - The Pueblo District Attorney’s Critical Incident Team has cleared Pueblo police officers of any wrongdoing in the January shooting that killed a man during an attempted home invasion.

The Pueblo Chieftain (https://bit.ly/1KbIFwW ) reports that Pueblo police officers responding to a home invasion Jan. 25 shot and killed 26-year-old Orlando Jude Lopez after officers say he fired on them following a foot chase. According to the report released Monday, officers say Lopez aimed a gun in their direction before he was shot.

Investigators with the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office interviewed seven Pueblo police officers and eight witnesses, who included neighbors who lived in the area and worshippers leaving the church.

A body camera worn by officer Jeremy Matthews shows him in pursuit of Lopez and recorded his commands to get down and drop it.
