NEW YORK (AP) - New York City’s creative sector is robust and growing.

That’s according to a new study by the Center for an Urban Future.

It says nonprofit arts and creative industries like film and television, architecture and performing arts were among the fastest growing segments of the city’s economy between 2003 and 2013.

During that period, employment in the sector rose 13 percent.

The Manhattan think tank says the largest growth has been in film and television, 53 percent.

In 2013 - the last year figures were available - 7 percent of all city jobs were in the creative sector.

But the report says New York City’s position as a major creative center is threatened by its high cost of living.
