SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - The sister of a man who died in a central Utah wildfire three years ago has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Rocky Mountain Power.

KSL-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1Id45Iz ) that attorneys for Patricia Martin claim in the suit filed Monday that the company failed to fix a safety violation that left a transmission line too close to a power pole that caught fire when the line arced.

James Martin was killed June 26, 2012 when flames overtook his car near Indianola in northern Sanpete County.

State fire officials say the Wood Hollow Fire, which started June 23, 2012, began when wind caused the high-voltage power line to come too close to the top of another power pole, sparking a grass fire at its base.

The blaze consumed 47,400 acres and destroyed 160 structures, including 52 homes.
