SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) - A nationally ranked 9-year-old golf champ is getting her stolen clubs back after they were spotted by the owner of a used sporting goods store.

KNXV-TV reports (https://bit.ly/1LtTKsy) Gracie McGovern’s family started making calls to secondhand sport shop owners asking them to look out for the clubs, which went missing from her dad’s car in Scottsdale sometime Wednesday night.

Greg Haase got one of those calls at his Tempe store, ‘Play it Again Sports.’ He says two women came in about three hours later with $1,500 worth of clubs that had been cut down for a child.

Haase recognized them and says the women took off, leaving the clubs behind.

McGovern says she’s hoping to get the clubs back from police before a national tournament in California on Sunday.
