BUTTE, Mont. (AP) - Police in Butte say a 25-year-old man who was found dead in an alley apparently fell 30 to 40 feet from a third-floor balcony on an Uptown apartment building.

Officers don’t suspect foul play. The man’s name hasn’t been released, but officials say he was born and raised in Butte. The Montana Standard reports (https://bit.ly/1CyKnRj ) the man’s body was being taken to the state crime lab in Missoula for autopsy.

Butte-Silver Bow County Undersheriff George Skuletich said someone called 911 shortly after 7 a.m. Friday after spotting the man’s body.

Skuletich says the balcony railing is about 4 feet high, is made of metal and is structurally intact.

Officials say the victim lives with a male roommate, who was asleep at the time of the fall.
