DETROIT (AP) - Police have found a 500-pound pig in the feces-filled basement of a west side Detroit home.

Assistant Chief Steve Dolunt tells WXYZ-TV (https://bit.ly/1BTlYLA ) Friday that an anonymous tip led officers to the house and that the caller said the pig had been fed human remains.

Other than the pig, police have found nothing suspicious. The basement is being investigated by Detroit police and state police as a crime scene. A cadaver-sniffing dog was called in.

A farmer was enlisted to help remove the pig.

Dolunt also said “there is a stench emanating” from other nearby houses.

Police tell the television station that the man who owns the pig was found dead Tuesday of natural causes.
