WORLAND, Wyo. (AP) - The wife of a Worland teacher who died from an overdose on pain medication has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the medical professionals that gave him the medication.

The Northern Wyoming Wyoming Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/1FD51WW ) Stephanie Anderson filed the suit in the Fifth Wyoming Judicial District Court Tuesday against Banner Health, an emergency room doctor and a nurse at Washakie Medical Center.

Banner Health Public Relations Director Sara Quale says Banner does not comment on pending litigation.

A representative from Washakie Medical Center could not be reached for comment.

In July 2013, 44-year-old Kevin Anderson was taken to Washakie Medical Center for abdominal pain. The suit claims the doctor is responsible for Anderson’s death because he caused him to overdose on hydromorphone, an opioid used for pain management.
