PROVIDENCE, N.Y. (AP) - A 33-year-old man has been charged with vehicular manslaughter after police say he crashed his all-terrain vehicle in upstate New York, killing his passenger.

The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office says Edward Wager was arraigned on Thursday. He had been previously charged with DWI and other traffic-related offenses in Sunday’s ATV crash that killed 33-year-old Roxanne Opalka.

Police say he was operating the ATV at a high rate of speed in the town of Providence when he lost control. Both were ejected and neither was wearing a helmet.

Wager is free on $30,000 bond.

It’s unclear if Wager has an attorney who could comment on the charges. ,
