GRETNA, La. (AP) - A Marrero father, who threatened his wife with a knife before stabbing his 13-year-old son and slashing at the throat of his 4-year-old son, has been arrested.

Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office spokesman Glen T. Boyd says both children are expected to recover from their injuries.

Boyd says deputies arrested 31-year-old Kenny Dupre on Friday on three counts of attempted first-degree murder, home invasion, aggravated arson, domestic abuse-aggravated assault and resisting an officer. He’s being held without bond at the parish jail in Gretna.

NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune reports (https://bit.ly/1GCixEj ) both of Dupre’s children were treated at an area hospital. Dupre’s 28-year-old wife was not hurt.

Boyd says the woman called deputies about 3:30 a.m. to report her husband was acting violent. When deputies arrived, they saw the children screaming in the window.
