CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire man has been sentenced to 2 ½ years in prison after being convicted of possession of child pornography.

Federal prosecutors say 36-year-old Brian Sorrentino of Newmarket was sentenced this week in U.S. District Court in Concord.

Authorities say the investigation into Sorrentino began in 2008, when investigators traced Internet activity involving child pornography to Sorrentino’s residence.

Acting U.S. Attorney Donald Feith says Sorrentino admitted having child pornography images when he was confronted by police at this home.

Investigators say an analysis of his computer revealed hundreds of images of child pornography.

Once he’s released from prison, Sorrentino will be placed on five years of supervised release.
