NEW YORK (AP) - Authorities say a New York City bus driver was slashed in the arm while fending off a man trying to snatch his necklace.

Police say it happened around 7 a.m. Thursday after the suspect boarded the M72 bus near Lincoln Center in Manhattan.

It wasn’t known what the man used to slash the driver.

WNBC-TV (https://bit.ly/1Nlt6kE ) says the driver was listed in stabled condition at a hospital where his injury was described as minor.

The suspect got away and remains at large.

It wasn’t immediately known if there were passengers abroad the bus.
