LOS ANGELES (AP) - A man who was injured in last year’s deadly Santa Barbara rampage is suing the killer’s parents.

The suit says Keith Cheung suffered a severe head injury and broken bones when a speeding BMW hit him last May as he biked home from work in Isla Vista.

The driver, 22-year-old Elliot Rodger, stabbed, shot and ran down people, killing six UC Santa Barbara students and injuring more than a dozen other people before killing himself.

Tuesday’s lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles County, argues that Rodger’s parents were negligent in letting him use the car.

It also claims Santa Barbara County and college authorities failed to investigate warning signs that Rodger was dangerous.

The university and county declined comment.

A message for the attorney of Rodger’s mother wasn’t immediately returned.
