PHOENIX (AP) - A suspect has been arrested in the fatal shooting of a man who allegedly was trying to steal marijuana from him in a Phoenix parking lot.

Phoenix police say 31-year-old Amador Aguilar Jr. is being held on $400,000 bond on suspicion of first-degree murder, possession and use of a weapon in a drug offense, and transportation and sale of marijuana.

Aguilar doesn’t have a lawyer as of Friday.

He was arrested Wednesday in the June 18 shooting of a man whose name hasn’t been released.

Aguilar told police that the man attempted to steal $400 worth of marijuana from him.

The man was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police executed a search warrant at Aguilar’s apartment and reported finding a large amount of marijuana, a shotgun and $6,000 in cash.
