SOUTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a man stalked a woman he knew and fatally shot her in a South Brunswick parking lot.

Police arrested Giver Vasquez at a home of an acquaintance in New Hope, Pennsylvania, on Thursday night.

Prosecutors say Vasquez borrowed a car and followed 24-year-old Alicia Martinez-Izaguirr to a parking lot and shot her on Wednesday. Prosecutors say the two knew each other and the shooting was not random.

Both are from New Brunswick.

Vasquez is charged with murder, stalking and weapons offenses.

He’s held on $2 million bail while awaiting extradition from Pennsylvania.
