TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) - A Texarkana tax preparer has been sentenced to three years of probation for providing money-laundering advice to a drug dealer.

The Texarkana Gazette (https://bit.ly/1NmcRns ) reports that Trameka Walker was sentenced Thursday after pleading guilty earlier this year to using a cellphone in furtherance of a drug crime.

She admitted that she told Sammy Garrison, whom she purchased crack cocaine from, to invest money he received from drug sales into smaller properties rather than larger, commercial ones so he wouldn’t draw attention from authorities. She also recommended that he put his real estate holdings in the names of others.

Garrison was sentenced in 2013 to serve more than 18 years in prison as part of a plea deal to avoid a possible life sentence.
