BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Applications are being accepted for a program that helps seniors and people with some medical conditions pay their cooling bills.

Officials say the cooling help comes from the federal Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program.

The so-called LIHEAP program helps eligible families pay for cooling, home heating and home weatherizing.

Funds can be used to purchase and install an air conditioning unit, repair an air conditioning unit, or to purchase fans for qualifying households.
