INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Authorities say an Ohio woman was killed in a semitrailer crash and fire that closed a section of Interstate 70 in downtown Indianapolis for several hours.

Indiana State Police say the driver lost control of the semi while going through a curve late Friday, struck a concrete barrier wall and ran into a support pillar for an I-65 overpass. A fire started from ruptured fuel tanks and engulfed the trailer’s load of paper products.

Police say the driver and others who stopped to help were unable to free 45-year-old Tanya Mitchell of Toronto, Ohio, from the truck’s sleeping berth. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The highway was closed about four hours while crews cleared the wreckage and inspected the bridge for damage.
