OREM, Utah (AP) - Orem police say they have arrested a father and son after the pair fled from officers and hit a bus.

The Desert News reports (https://bit.ly/1QVGH81 ) that police began chasing a car that they believed belonged to a shoplifter who left Shopko around 11:30 a.m. Friday.

Orem police say the chase was called off for safety reasons, but the other car kept speeding and hit the front corner bumper of a UTA bus.

The driver and teenage passenger then ran away on foot, but police say they arrested the 36-year-old man and his 14-year-old son a short distance away.
