SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - The Utah Department of Transportation shut down a portion of Interstate 84 after it buckled in Box Elder County.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1JcQHCV ) that dispatchers received a report Friday evening about damage across westbound lanes.

UHP says it has closed down I-84 at exit 24. Traffic will be turned around at the overpass and routed back to Tremonton.

The department says it does not yet have a timeframe for when surface repairs will be finished.
