LAS VEGAS (AP) - A 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in an accident that left a bicyclist dead in Las Vegas.

Police say a 33-year-old man on a mountain bike was crossing Sahara Avenue at an intersection late Friday night when he was struck by a car driven by Abraham Lebron Jr. of Las Vegas.

The bicyclist was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name wasn’t immediately released.

Police say Lebron fled the scene but turned himself in to authorities a short time later.

He was booked into the Clark County jail on driving under the influence and hit-and-run charges.

The 11:35 p.m. accident is under investigation.
