BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - The union representing nurses at the University of Vermont Medical Center says a tentative agreement has been reached to settle the nurses’ contract.

The tentative deal came after 20 hours of negotiations on Friday and into Saturday morning.

The nurses are expected to hold a ratification vote over the next week.

The Vermont Federation of Nurses and Health Professionals says the tentative deal improves key areas for nurse, such as professional education, wages and scheduling.
