PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Portland fire officials have announced a burn ban, citing hot temperatures and windy conditions.

The Oregonian reports (https://is.gd/CJB3ft ) that Portland Fire Chief Erin Janssens declared a complete burn ban, effective Friday evening.

The ban prohibits all open-flame burning, including bonfires, within the city of Portland and all of Multnomah County until further notice. Barbecues are still allowed.

The National Weather Service said Portland’s high temperature Friday was 95 degrees.
