JERICHO, Vt. (AP) - Vermont State Police bomb squad members and personnel from the Vermont Air National Guard Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team have been engaging in some joint training.

In one recent two-day exercise, explosives response teams were given scenarios in which they had to identify a threat, work with specialized equipment and eliminate the hazard.

The Guard’s Master Sgt. Christopher Derringer says the exercise was an overwhelming success.

The trainings began last fall and are projected to continue with several upcoming exercises including the Department of Homeland Security, Vermont National Guard Civil Support Team, and local law enforcement.
