AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - A funeral is scheduled for Tuesday for an Austin-area police sergeant who was killed when a fleeing suspect commandeered the sergeant’s patrol car and ran him over.

The funeral will be held Tuesday morning at Shoreline Church in Austin for Hutto Sgt. Christopher Kelley.

Hutto officials said in a statement Sunday that a procession will then travel to Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen for burial.

Authorities have said the 37-year-old Kelley was pursuing 26-year-old Colby Ray Williamson on foot Wednesday following a car chase when Williamson somehow gained control of Kelley’s vehicle. Investigators say as he sped away, Williamson struck Kelley.

Williamson remains in custody in the Williamson County jail on $1 million bail. He’s charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a peace officer.
