TAUNTON, Mass. (AP) - Authorities say one person has died and three are injured after a Saturday afternoon shooting in Taunton.

The Bristol district attorney’s office said 24-year-old Marques McCassie died at a hospital about an hour after the shooting.

Taunton police responded to Weir Street at about 5:44 p.m. for reports of gunfire. Authorities are still investigating.

The Taunton Daily Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1LOMqpA) a pickup truck whose driver later said two of his passengers had been shot crashed into a sedan on nearby Harrison Street. Witnesses said a man jumped out of the truck saying he had been shot, then was picked up by a white car that drove away. The pickup driver told a Gazette reporter two of his passengers had been shot.

Saturday’s shooting follows one last Sunday in which two men were injured. No one has been arrested.
