MIDWEST CITY, Okla. (AP) - Midwest City police say an officer has been released from the hospital after a hit-and-run crash.

Lt. Bill Horn says the unnamed officer was recovering after the rear-end collision pushed her patrol vehicle across four lanes of traffic in Midwest City early Sunday. The vehicle landed upside down in a ditch.

Horn says the officer suffered major whiplash but no broken bones. She was treated at an area hospital.

Officers are searching for the driver of the other vehicle, who they say fled on foot following the collision. No arrests have been reported.
