WHITE HAVEN, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say two men died when their car spun out on a northeastern Pennsylvania road and smashed into a tree over the weekend.

State police in Luzerne County say the crash was reported shortly before 7:30 p.m. Saturday on North Lehigh Gorge Drive in Foster Township.

Police said the car was heading south at high speed when it went out of control, spun clockwise off the right side of the roadway and hit the tree.

The coroner’s office pronounced 57-year-old Gerald Sweitzer of Weatherly and 38-year-old Keith Frick of Pittston dead at the scene.

State police in Hazleton are still investigating the cause of the crash.
