WINONA, Minn. (AP) - An annual air show in Winona is being postponed because of a runway reconstruction project at the municipal airport.

This year’s air show at Max Conrad Field is postponed - and may eventually have to be canceled - because of ongoing work to rebuild the airport’s runway.

The Winona Daily News (https://bit.ly/1LCRVuD ) reports there is no set date yet for when the show might be held, because it depends on the construction schedule.

The multi-million dollar project is aimed at improving safety and expanding access by reconstructing the airport’s runway, along with redoing the navigational aids and taxiway. The runway will be expanded by about 400 feet, and both the runway and taxiway will be repaved. The project is paid for largely through federal funds.
